On July 1, 2026, Sparkle Greece’s Metamorfosis II data center achieved Uptime Institute Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility (TCCF). Previously, on June 24, Sparkle formed a partnership with IT consultancy Xebia to accelerate AWS cloud adoption for research and education institutions across nine European markets. This followed two significant announcements on June 18: Sparkle confirmed the construction of GreenMed, a next-generation subsea system designed to enhance route diversity and low-latency connectivity between the Middle East and Europe, with Alcatel Submarine Networks (ASN) designing and manufacturing the system for installation by Elettra.
