EdgeNext, a privately owned company headquartered in the US, founded in 2015, has approximately 310 employees and reported $46.7M in revenue as of 2024. The company specializes in connectivity and distribution services, focusing on cloud delivery across APAC, China, MEA, and global regions through an extensive network of over 1300 PoPs. EdgeNext designs its network and platform for CDN service performance and features, ensuring the network is not shared with traffic unrelated to CDN services. It also provides cloud-native security solutions, including anti-DDoS, WAF, and other cloud security features, alongside Edge Computing Services such as ECS and Bare Metal Servers.
EdgeNext partnered with iXAfrica Data Centres to combine EdgeNext's global edge platform with iXAfrica's infrastructure in Nairobi, Kenya, offering services to enterprise clients. A separate partnership between EdgeNext and iXAfrica Data Centres aims to drive digital infrastructure growth in East Africa. EdgeNext launched upgraded edge cloud servers (ECS 2.0), adding infrastructure in twelve countries: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Mongolia, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Libya, and Australia. Steven Chen, Senior VP of Product Infrastructure and Strategic Partnership at EdgeNext, stated that Cogent's services aided EdgeNext's scaling in key regions.
