On September 16, 2026, Majid Al Futtaim partnered with Nestlé UAE and cleantech company Sparklo to expand an AI-powered smart recycling initiative across selected Carrefour stores in the UAE. This collaboration integrates Nestlé UAE’s “Recycle to Break the Cycle” campaign with Sparklo’s Reverse Vending Machines, enabling customers to deposit empty plastic bottles and aluminium cans and earn points through the Sparklo app. Earlier on September 16, Majid Al Futtaim, which holds exclusive rights to operate Carrefour in Kenya, opened its 36th store in the country. This new Carrefour outlet is situated in Thome along the Northern Bypass in Marurui, Nairobi County. Previously, on September 10, the Chef’s Society at City Centre Mirdif introduced 10 new kitchens, enhancing its diverse culinary offering with additions such as Anara by Kunal Kapur, Ying Ji Dim Sum by Chef Lin Deshan, and Slab by Chef Omar Rodrigues.
