Jang Media Group

Jang Media Group, also known as Geo Group, a privately owned company headquartered in Pakistan, was founded in 1939. Operating as the media wing of Independent Media Corporation, the group originated with the launch of its Urdu newspaper, Daily Jang, in Delhi by Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman. Following Partition, operations relocated to Karachi, where the business expanded from print journalism into a multi-platform media enterprise. This enterprise encompasses broadcast television and radio, television networks, English and Urdu print publishing, digital portals, book publishing, and cinema distribution. The group's portfolio includes the Geo Television Network, print publications such as Daily Jang and The News International, and film production extensions like Geo Films.
