On September 16, 2026, Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network (HITN) joined the Mexican Consulate in New York for its annual Independence Day celebration in Sunset Park, an event that gathered residents, community organizations, local businesses, and media outlets. Previously, on September 11, 2026, HITN attended the Raíces Gala 2026 in Chicago, where the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture (NMPRAC) received accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), presented by AAM President Marilyn Jackson. Earlier in September, on the 8th, HITN continued its school supply donation program, providing kits to students from families with limited resources in communities across New York and Puerto Rico as part of its educational support efforts. This followed HITN's participation in New York City’s annual Summer Streets program on August 8, 2026, when sections of major roadways were transformed into open public spaces. On August 3, 2026, HITN donated 50 iPads to WHIN Music Community Charter School in Washington Heights, providing new technology for students for the academic year.
