FiBrasil, a privately owned company headquartered in Brazil, was founded in 2021 and employs approximately 260 individuals. The company focuses on connectivity and distribution services. Functioning as a neutral fiber network provider, FiBrasil was created by Telefônica Brasil, Telefónica Infra – the infrastructure arm of Telefónica Group – and CDPQ – a global investment group in Brazil.
On May 19, 2026, Telefonica Brasil finalized the acquisition of the remaining 24.99 percent stake in FiBrasil for BRL 458.7 million. The parent company of Vivo, Telefonica Brasil, purchased these shares from TEF Infra, a subsidiary of the Telefonica group, making a single installment payment upon signing the agreement. This transaction results in Telefonica Brasil owning 100 percent of FiBrasil, fully consolidating the fiber-optic network operator as a subsidiary.
