On March 16, 2026, the Armenian Weightlifting Federation hosted an EWF Technical Official Seminar in Yerevan from February 12 to 15, inviting three EWF Technical Committee members to conduct the seminar in conjunction with the 2026 Armenian National Weightlifting Championship. Previously, on February 5, 2026, the European Weightlifting Federation signed an agreement with the EOC EU Office of Sports, the Brussels-based representation of the European Olympic Committees that promotes the Olympic Movement's interests at the European Union level. This followed the EWF Executive Board's decision on December 30, 2025, during its last official meeting of the year, to cancel the 2026 European Junior & U23 Weightlifting Championships, originally scheduled for Poland, and to confirm a new youth competition calendar. The Polish Weightlifting Federation's 100th anniversary was celebrated on December 13, 2025, in Warsaw. Earlier, on May 23, 2025, Mohammed Jalood was re-elected for his second term as IWF President in a unanimous vote during the IWF elections, which also resulted in Europe gaining four seats on the Executive Board.
