The company was formed on June 24, 2009, by the commercial, privately-owned nationwide television channels Alpha, Alter, Antenna, Macedonia TV, Mega, Skai and Star, with the purpose of creating and providing a digital terrestrial television network.
In 2009, Digea, a consortium of seven major private Greek broadcasters, was established. In a partnership with regional systems integrator Cybertec, Digea implemented Agama Technologies as the provider of a headend monitoring solution for its digital terrestrial transmissions of private channels across Greece.
