Founded in 2001 and employing approximately 530 individuals, the company operates in IT services and IT consulting. It specializes in advanced hybrid IT solutions that leverage interconnected data center campuses, designed to enable enterprises, cloud, network, and IT service providers to optimize their digital business.
American Tower is leveraging key sites in its real estate portfolio to launch edge data centers, beginning in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park region, according to its VP Jim Poole on September 17, 2026. American Tower had acquired data center operator CoreSite in 2021. Previously, on September 15, CoreSite filed plans to develop new data centers in Texas, specifically around Dallas, alongside other firms including Digital Realty and DataBank. This follows American Tower President and CEO Steve Vondran stating on September 12 that CoreSite demand, coupled with 5G and AI, is fueling growth across the company’s tower and data center businesses, with a focus on organic growth and margin expansion.
