On September 9, 2026, Beta Film acquired international distribution rights for the 6x1h character-driven drama series "Blindspot Berlin," a Neuesuper production co-produced with ARD Degeto, rbb, NDR, and HR. The series, which explores systemic failures and human errors related to the December 2016 Christmas market attack in Berlin, is set for its worldwide premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 13. On the same day, the creatives behind "Babylon Berlin" reflected on the upcoming fifth and final season of the German period drama, which concludes a 13-year journey for writer-directors Tom Tykwer, Achim von Borries, and Henk Handloegten. This eight-part final season releases on the German ARD platform on September 10, with a U.S. release on MhZ in 2027. Previously, on September 8, the official trailer for the post-WWI crime thriller "Babylon Berlin's" fifth and final season was revealed, depicting police detective Gereon Rath (Volker Bruch) and his partner Charlotte Ritter (Liv Lisa Fries) facing their most complicated chapter.
