The Badminton Association of India (BAI) will conduct its Level-1 (Advanced) Coaches Course from September 14 to 23, 2026, at National Centres of Excellence in Guwahati and Raipur. This announcement, made on September 1, also noted the availability of results from the Grassroot Coaches Development Programme, which ran from June 14 to 22, 2025. Previously, on August 29, the BAI signed a tripartite agreement with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Sports Authority of Assam (SAA). This pact establishes a National Centre of Excellence (NCoE) for swimming at the Amingaon Sports Complex in Guwahati, aiming to strengthen sports infrastructure and promote excellence in the region. Earlier, on August 24, Guwahati was selected to host the 2028 India Open, an outcome the Assam Badminton Association attributed to a joint partnership with the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and BAI.
