Arte, also known as Association relative à la télévision européenne, is a state-owned entity headquartered in France. Founded in 1992, with approximately 3,420 employees, Arte reported $201.1M in revenue as of 2024, functioning as a tier 1 media tech buyer. The company specializes in broadcast television and radio, operating as a European public service channel dedicated to culture. It is comprised of three separate companies: the Strasbourg-based European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG) ARTE, ARTE France in Paris (formerly known as La Sept), and ARTE Deutschland in Baden-Baden, which is a subsidiary of the two main public German TV networks ARD and ZDF.
The national ARTE board concluded its third meeting to negotiate a textile trade agreement on January 20, 2026, without progress, according to sources from the unions and the employers' association, which groups chains such as Inditex, Mango, H&M, and Primark. During the meeting, ARTE representatives analyzed similar proposals from CCOO and Fetico. Earlier on the same day, Bruno Patino, president of ARTE France and vice-president of ARTE GEIE, signed a cooperation agreement with Jet de Ranitz, chairman of the Dutch Public Broadcasting (NPO).
