On September 10, Youverse detailed CEN/TS 18099 high certification, outlining that auditors require independently verified evidence for conformity assessment under standards such as ISO/IEC 19989-3 and ISO/IEC 30107. Previously, on September 8, the company clarified that CEN/TS 18099 differs from ISO/IEC 30107-3, with the latter standard specifically testing and reporting presentation attack detection (PAD). On August 26, Youverse published content distinguishing age checks from comprehensive age assurance systems, stressing the necessity of robust appeal routes and retry policies to prevent system compromise. On the same day, it defined age assurance as an umbrella term for online age verification methods and opened pre-registration for its 2026 Age Assurance Guide for Social Dating and Adult Sites. Earlier, on August 25, Youverse explained how to add facial age estimation to web apps, illustrating image statuses like VALID_IMAGE and specifying that production access control requires a validated challenge policy, liveness detection, monitoring, and legal review, beyond basic demo routing.
