News Summary:

The 26th FAI World Hot Air Balloon Championship is set to begin September 19-25 in Krosno, Poland, with leading pilots from five continents gathering to compete for the 2026 world champion title. Previously, new World Champions were crowned on September 12 following 11 days of competition at the 27th FAI World Glider Aerobatic Championship and 15th FAI World Advanced Glider Aerobatic Championship in Fayence, France. Oliver Adamy, 21, of Czechia, claimed the individual World title in the 27th FAI World Glider Aerobatic Championship, finishing ahead of Michael Spitzer of Germany and defending 2024 World Champion Maciej Pospieszyński of Poland. Earlier, on September 8, French pilot Florent Oddon made history at the 33rd FAI World Aerobatic Championship in Mason City, Iowa, USA, by becoming the first pilot to claim three consecutive world titles, also leading his team-mates to overall victory.
