Voice of Vietnam, also known as VOV, is a state-owned national radio broadcaster headquartered in Vietnam. Founded in 1945, the organization employs approximately 300 individuals and is classified as a tier 1 media tech buyer. Functioning as a pivotal multimedia institution under the direct management of the Government, VOV integrates radio, television, print, and digital platforms. It serves as the "Voice of the State," providing authoritative information on national policy, diplomacy, and socio-economic development to domestic audiences and the global Vietnamese diaspora.
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung urged ministries and local authorities to intensify efforts against intellectual property infringements on June 2, 2026, targeting a minimum 20% rise in handled cases in 2026 from 2025 levels, as reported by Voice of Vietnam (VOV). Separately, on May 27, Voice of Vietnam won the Best Radio Programme Award at the Asia Media Summit 2026, organized by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). This followed discussions on May 26 between Cambodia and Vietnam to expand cooperation in media, digital technology, broadcasting, and journalism training, involving Cambodia's Minister of Information Neth Pheaktra and Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Culture Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy. Earlier, on May 12, Vietnam sought to strengthen defense cooperation with Sweden, with Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Phan Van Giang telling Swedish Ambassador Johan Ndisi that Sweden is considered a key Northern European partner, according to VOV. VOV also reported on May 11 that Vietnam's 16th National Assembly is scheduled to hold its second 30-day session in October and November 2026.
