Verizon seeks FCC approval to test 6G use cases in 4GHz

Verizon is gearing up for more trials of 6G use cases and wants to use 4GHz midband spectrum to test object sensing in and around its lab in Los Angeles. Verizon Wireless (under the company name Cellco Partnership) has applied for an experimental license to use the 4.8GHz-4.9GHz band to "demonstrate 5G advanced technology use cases such as object sensing as a precursor to 6G integrated sensing and communication (ISAC)," according to its application filings.

Eaton Fiber eats up Ripple Fiber, adding to Verizon's footprint

Tillman Global's Eaton Fiber, a partner of Verizon, announced that it will acquire Ripple Fiber in a move that will help Verizon add to its fiber footprint. The deal, announced on Wednesday (July 29), will see Eaton Fiber receive a $1.5 billion investment, led by Bain Capital's Special Situations team, to be used both to fund the Ripple Fiber acquisition as well as "the next phase of Eaton Fiber's network expansion," according to a press release.

Finland's F-Secure has reported organic revenue growth of almost 10 percent in Q2, up from around 2 percent in January to March. The cybersecurity and privacy vendor said group turnover lifted 9.9 percent in currency-neutral terms to EUR 39.8 million.
