Usercentrics is a privately owned company headquartered in Germany, founded in 2017 with approximately 230 employees. The company specializes in data privacy, offering consent management solutions for the digital ecosystem.
Usercentrics recently published its State of Digital Trust 2026 report, based on a March 2026 study by Sapio Research of 11,000 consumers across seven markets. The findings revealed that consumers are moving beyond expressing concern to taking concrete purchasing actions due to AI data handling, which directly impacts ad campaign measurement and bidding algorithm performance, with one in four consumers canceling services over AI data. On June 25, the report highlighted that 52% of consumers globally would pay a 7% premium for AI transparency, a figure rising to 73% in Germany. It also noted that almost half of consumers have already taken actions with direct revenue consequences, positioning AI transparency as a commercial differentiator. Earlier, on June 24, the second annual State of Digital Trust 2026 Report detailed that 52% of consumers globally are willing to pay an average premium of seven percent for brands transparent about their AI data usage. The research further indicated that three in five British consumers are uncomfortable with AI being trained on their data, with 80% of UK consumers willing to stop using a service if their data was misused and 88% having taken steps to protect their online personal data in the past six months.
