As a tier 2 media tech buyer, its main product is broadcast television and radio. The company functions as a regional public service television station and digital news provider, operating as one of eight independent regional entities within the broader TV 2 network infrastructure. Commencing operations on January 2, 1991, following its establishment under the Danish Broadcasting Act of 1986, TV2 Ost serves the western and southern parts of Zealand, alongside the islands of Lolland, Falster, and Møn. Its mandate is to deliver objective regional journalism, cultural documentation, and localized civic reporting independent of commercial or political bias.
Optus Sport ceased operations on August 1, 2025, after nearly a decade of broadcasting football in Australia. This followed the transfer of key football rights, including the Premier League, Emirates FA Cup, J.League, and National Women’s Soccer League, to Stan Sport. Nine Entertainment Co, through its subsidiary Stan, acquired selected Optus Sport assets, including media rights agreements, subscriber agreements, and social media assets. These assets included the Premier League and Emirates FA Cup rights. Following this acquisition, Nine Entertainment appointed Howard Rees, formerly the head of Optus Sport, as its chief strategy officer for broadcast and streaming.
