Also shown were Béla Tarr's 1984 Hungarian film "Almanac of Fall," presented in 35mm with English subtitles, and Brian De Palma's 1983 "Scarface," a remake scripted by Oliver Stone starring Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer, which transposed its gangster narrative from 1920s Chicago to 1980s Miami. Previously, on March 19, MoMA hosted a "Member Evening" to celebrate "Frida and Diego: The Last Dream," a collaboration with the Metropolitan Opera on the occasion of its "El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego" production. This event featured a theatrical installation by Jon Bausor showcasing select works by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Earlier, on March 17, MoMA screened Miloš Forman's 1984 "Amadeus," an adaptation of Peter Shaffer's play depicting the fraught relationship between an aged Antonio Salieri and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
