Telia Sweden, also known as Telia Sverige, is a privately owned company headquartered in Sweden. Operating as a subsidiary of the Nordic telecommunications conglomerate Telia Company, it was founded in 2003 and functions as a tier 1 media tech buyer. The company specializes in telecoms, reporting $3.4B in revenue as of 2024. Telia Sweden's consumer TV services operate under the brand Telia.
Telia Sweden, in collaboration with children's rights organization Bris, updated its 'Mobile Driving Licence' on July 10, 2026, by adding a new section on artificial intelligence to the free public education service, which launched in 2020 to guide minors and guardians on safe mobile phone use. Previously, on July 8, Telia sued telecom operator Telenor, seeking to prohibit its use of marketing claims such as "Sweden's best network" and "Sweden's fastest 5G network," arguing the wording is misleading and requesting a penalty fine in the millions. Telia also reported a 33% reduction in suspected fraud calls across its network in the first half of 2026, stopping approximately 21 million calls, 10 million fewer than in the same period of 2025, a decrease coinciding with strengthened protection measures and expanded industry-wide anti-fraud efforts. Earlier in the month, on July 2, Telia acquired the local fiber network Sörpnet in Söderköping Municipality from Eddima Teknik AB, integrating about 1000 fiber connections to enhance the digital infrastructure for municipal operations, businesses, and residents with a focus on secure and robust connectivity.
