This platform, previously dedicated to natural gas production, is being repurposed into an unmanned facility designed to inject CO₂ into depleted gas fields beneath the North Sea, forming a key component of the Porthos CO₂ transport and storage project. Tampnet had secured the contract to deliver and operate this communications infrastructure on March 17. Previously, on February 6, Tampnet expanded its operations into the onshore energy sector, leveraging its offshore expertise to deliver high-performance private 5G networks and edge computing for remote, complex, and steel-rich environments where traditional Wi-Fi struggles, including hydrocarbon processing industries. The company also appointed Valenti Roca as Chief Commercial Officer for Onshore Energy.
