On July 10, carmakers, including Stellantis's Peugeot and Citroen brands, secured a preliminary legal victory as Judge Sara Cockerill dismissed most major allegations in a high-profile case concerning alleged 'defeat devices' in diesel vehicles. Earlier the same day, Opel's Global CEO and Chairman met with the President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA) to discuss strengthening Algeria's automotive industry and exploring Opel's manufacturing plans in the country. This follows Stellantis's announcement of further production shutdowns at its Cassino plant in Italy from July 13-17, 2026, affecting the assembly body shop and paint shop, as reported on July 9. Also on July 10, DS Automobiles, a Stellantis luxury brand, launched the DS N°7 E-Tense, a new premium battery electric vehicle (BEV) offering 460 miles of range and designed for long-distance travel. Concurrently, Stellantis's Dodge brand initiated a nationwide summer tour celebrating 60 years and eight generations of the Dodge Charger muscle car, with events planned across the country.
