Queensland Performing Arts Centre, also known as QPAC, is a state-owned entity headquartered in Australia. Founded in 1977, it employs approximately 420 individuals. Functioning as a live performance center, QPAC is dedicated to the performing arts.
Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) announced on March 15, 2026, that its Clancestry festival, a celebration of First Nations arts and culture, will return from July 30 to August 8, 2026. An iconic event in QPAC’s calendar since 2013, Clancestry provides a platform for both established and emerging First Nations artists. Earlier in March, QPAC officially opened its new Glasshouse Theatre, a $184 million addition that establishes it as "Australia’s largest performing arts venue under one roof." The theatre, seven years in the making, features a distinctive rippling glass façade designed in collaboration by Blight Rayner Architecture and Snøhetta. This design was selected from 24 entries in an international competition held in 2019, and QPAC describes the South Bank venue as aiming to reframe how a major cultural building engages with the city.
