News Summary:

On March 20, 2026, RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. secured a Letter of Intent from Prasar Bharati for the Supply and Installation of a Cloud-Based Integrated News Room for Doordarshan News DD India and Regional News Units of Doordarshan, an order valued at Rs. 1.59 billion (including tax). Previously, on March 19, 2026, the All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF), an industry body representing multi-system operators (MSOs), approached the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) to challenge Prasar Bharati’s decision to onboard linear satellite television channels onto its WAVES OTT platform. AIDCF argued that the move violates the 2022 Uplinking and Downlinking Guidelines and distorts the level playing field between regulated distributors and largely unregulated OTT services.
