On September 11, 2026, Samuel Goldwyn Films acquired U.S. distribution rights for Pathe's historical epic "De Gaulle," a €70 million ($82 million) production by Antonin Baudry. The film, which chronicles Charles de Gaulle’s rise during World War II, premiered out of competition at Cannes and was shortlisted to represent France in the Oscar race, with a U.S. theatrical release anticipated in November or December 2026. Previously, on July 29, 2026, Pathe established a strategic partnership with film distributor The Searchers by acquiring a 50% stake in the Netherlands and Belgium-based company. This move expands Pathe's film distribution activities into the Benelux territory, where its presence had primarily focused on exhibition through its subsidiaries, Pathé Belgium and Pathé Netherlands, which operate approximately 40 cinemas and close to 300 screens. This follows Pathe adding extra screenings of its film "The Odyssey" on July 28, 2026, after a leaked high-quality version of the movie was viewed 2.1 million times on an X account within 2.5 hours before its removal.
