NRB, the No. 1 modular listed company, more than doubled its operating profit in the first half of 2026, achieving revenue of 37 billion and an operating profit of 3.3 billion. The company concurrently increased its PC modular utilization rate from 25% to 40% to establish a mass production system for expanding government orders for modular public housing. This performance follows the government's decision on August 17 to significantly expand modular housing as a full-fledged supply method to accelerate housing provision. The government plans to broaden modular construction, previously used for schools, dormitories, and low-rise houses, to high-rise apartments of 20 stories or higher, with public housing orders commencing annually from 2027. Earlier on August 17, the Hanam Gyosan A-1 block of the Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Innovation Corporation (GH) was cited as a representative high-rise pilot project for this initiative.
