NAU Eyes Outdoor Opener at Carvel Jackson Memorial Showcase
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 26, 2026) – Following a dominant indoor season that saw Northern Arizona University sweep the Big Sky Conference team titles, the Lumberjacks shift their focus to the 2026 outdoor campaign. NAU will look to complete the Triple Crown by capturing conference titles in cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field within the same academic year.

They are wriggly, quiet and hidden in the soil, but inside a dark plastic bin, these red wriggler worms are twisting through yesterday’s leftovers, turning scraps into a rich organic soil amendment. Vermicomposting—using worms to create compost— transforms organic waste into nutrient-dense compost while reducing landfill waste, cutting greenhouse gas emissions and improving soil health.
