NileSat Chairman and CEO General Sameh Katta met with Thales Alenia Space CEO Hervé Derrey in Paris on September 16, 2026, to discuss strengthening strategic cooperation in satellite communications and exploring advanced technologies for the Egyptian satellite operator’s future broadcasting and communication plans. Previously, on September 14, Katta held separate meetings in Paris on the sidelines of the Satellite Week Business; one with Arabsat CEO Eng. Badr Al-Suwaidan and CTO Mr. Muhannad bin Abdulaziz Al-Murshid to strengthen their partnership in satellite communications, and another with Eutelsat CEO Mr. Jean-François Fallacher to discuss strategic cooperation in space communications. Earlier, Nilesat reported a 24.3% fall in net profit for the first half of 2026, despite improved operating margins, as announced on August 26. This followed the World Teleport Association’s successful re-certification of Nilesat’s Cairo Teleport on August 18, renewing its Tier 4 quality rating under the WTA’s Teleport Certification Program.
