Nickelodeon Animation, also known as Nickelodeon Studios, is an American animation studio headquartered in the US and owned by Paramount Skydance Corporation through the Nickelodeon Group. Founded in 1992, with an estimated 1,000 employees, the company reported $467.0M in revenue as of 2024. The company specializes in content rights, having created original animated television programs for Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, and Nick Jr., including titles such as SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, Rugrats, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and The Loud House. Since the 2010s, the studio has also produced series based on preexisting intellectual property purchased by Paramount Skydance Corporation, exemplified by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Winx Club. In November 2019, Nickelodeon Animation Studio entered into a multiple-year output deal with Netflix for content production involving both new and existing intellectual property for the streaming platform, while also producing content for Paramount+.
Apple TV unveiled a sneak peek on February 24, 2026, for the second season of "Wonder Pets: In the City," which will premiere on March 20, 2026. The series follows Izzy the Guinea Pig, Zuri the Bunny, and Tate the Snake on new curiosity-driven adventures. Previously, on December 23, 2025, Paramount confirmed the animated "Avatar: The Last Airbender" movie, titled "The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender," will bypass its original October 2026 theatrical release to premiere exclusively on Paramount+ in Fall 2026. This follows the departure of Ramsey Naito as President of Paramount Animation on October 30, 2025. Naito, who assumed the Paramount Animation role in September 2021, previously headed Nickelodeon Animation, where she launched over 70 projects, establishing its largest animation slate in the network’s 40-year history.
