Momenta is a privately owned company headquartered in China, founded in 2016 and employing approximately 490 individuals. The company specializes in artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, developing autonomous driving solutions designed to enhance safety, convenience, and efficiency of mobility.
In February 2026, IM Motors officially launched its IM5 and IM6 models in the United Arab Emirates and Tunisia, both equipped with the IM driver assistance system jointly developed with Momenta. Earlier in February 2026, Mercedes-Benz and Momenta announced a milestone in their partnership, delivering a safety-focused intelligent driving experience tailored to Chinese urban environments with the all-electric CLA. Previously, on December 17, 2025, Momenta entered a strategic partnership with Grab, which included an investment from Grab and a joint effort to bring advanced autonomous driving technologies to Southeast Asia. This followed the December 8, 2025, announcement where Momenta, alongside Mercedes-Benz and UAE taxi company Lumo, launched a luxury robotaxi service in Abu Dhabi, based on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, with formal operations planned to begin the following year and future expansion to additional global markets.
