Independent Television Network

Independent Television Network is a state-governed public commercial media company headquartered in Battaramulla, Sri Lanka. Originally established on April 13, 1979, by private entrepreneurs Shan Wickremesinghe and Anil Wijewardene as Sri Lanka's first terrestrial television network, it was acquired by the state on June 5, 1979, and converted into a public limited company under the Ministry of Mass Media in 1992. The company operates a multi-lingual broadcasting suite that covers over 99% of Sri Lanka, providing broadcast television and radio services. This suite incorporates flagship Sinhala broadcast services (ITN), Tamil-language television and radio properties (Vasantham TV / Vasantham FM), English-language stations (Prime TV / Prime Radio), and its primary radio arm, Lakhanda Radio (ITN FM), alongside the specialized digital news portal ITN News.
