On September 8, 2026, Geniatech launched two new M.2 AI Computing Cards, the RK1828 and RK1820. Built around Rockchip’s new AI co-processors, these modules are designed to bring offline large language model (LLM) and vision-language model (VLM) inference to existing embedded platforms, aiming for tiered local LLM/VLM deployment at the edge. The company, an ARM embedded ODM, has nearly three decades of hardware design and manufacturing experience. The RK1828 and RK1820 co-processors share an identical architecture and a 20 TOPS INT8 NPU. The RK1820 is suitable for target models at 3B parameters or below, lighter VLMs, or traditional CNN detection, providing advantages in minimizing power draw and cost.
