On September 17, Extron announced Dynamic Images, a new control system capability that allows user interfaces to display low-frame-rate video directly from NAV Pro AV over IP systems and soon Quantum Ultra II videowall processor systems, securely delivering confidence preview content without requiring dedicated preview hardware. Earlier on September 17, the company unveiled an upgraded Extron Control app for mobile devices, offering real-time dynamic image previews and new authentication options. This followed Extron's September 16 announcement of the immediate availability of Extron Control Pro, a new AV control app providing complete mobile access to Extron control systems from Apple and Android devices, which also enables users to add multiple systems at once, even while offline. Previously, on September 14, Extron began shipping the DXP 42 HD 8K, a compact 4x2 HDMI matrix switcher designed for pro AV environments. The switcher supports resolutions up to 8K/60 and ultra-wide 5K at data rates up to 40.1Gbps and is fully HDCP 2.3-compliant, with applications including Microsoft Teams Front Row systems.
