Elisa enhances mobile network capacity to serve Finnish holiday cabins
Finnish operator Elisa said it is taking measures to strengthen its mobile network in over 80 locations to enhance connectivity for holiday cabins in time for summer. In 2024, there were 495,145 holiday cabins in Finland, according to statistics bureau Tilastokeskus.

MTV terminates distribution deal with Elisa
Finnish operator Elisa said Schibsted's broadcaster MTV has terminated their distribution agreements with effect from 13 May, two days before the popular World Ice Hockey Championships starts. MTV's free-to-air channels MTV3, MTV Sub and MTV Ava will no longer be available for live viewing via Elisa's cable television service or Elisa Viihde entertainment service, affecting approximately 800,000 households.

Elisa takes part in Finnish Border Guard drone detection trial
Elisa said it is taking part in a pilot project with the Finnish Border Guard (Rajavartiolaitos) and Sensofusion for drone detection in southeast Finland. Sensofusion is providing the drone detection system and Elisa is supplying the digital infrastructure. The three parties will each be responsible for their own costs. The trial period runs until 30 September this year but the scheme could be extended.
