EdgeConneX, a privately owned company headquartered in the US, was founded in 2009, operates with approximately 250 employees, and specializes in data centre infrastructure. The company builds and operates purpose-built data centers.
An EdgeConneX affiliate plans to construct an on-site natural gas plant for its data center in Pickaway County, Ohio, despite a local village moratorium, a development reported on March 20, 2026. Previously, on March 19, the company began efforts to introduce more data center asset-backed securities (ABS) master trusts in Europe, a structure common in the UK but new to the European data center market. Earlier the same day, EdgeConneX commenced construction of its first 200MW AI-ready hyperscale campus in Greater Osaka, Japan, a project undertaken in partnership with Kagoya Asset Management to support the region's increasing demand for digital infrastructure.
