East Africa Television, also known as EATV, is a privately owned company headquartered in Tanzania and an associate property of IPP Media. Founded in 2002, the company specializes in broadcast television and radio. Operating out of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the commercial television network, also known as Channel 5, is target-focused on youth and young adults aged 18 to 35. It broadcasts a general entertainment and lifestyle programming mix dominated by contemporary African music, pop culture, reality shows, local drama, and current affairs. EATV delivers free-to-air digital terrestrial coverage across Tanzania, alongside satellite-syndicated distribution into neighboring regional urban hubs including Kenya and Uganda.
