The company operates as a professional ice hockey team based in Dallas, competing in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Central Division in the Western Conference. From 1993 to 2001, the team played in Reunion Arena in downtown Dallas, subsequently moving to the American Airlines Center in Dallas's Victory Park neighborhood, an arena it shares with the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
