This acquisition, which saw Vegas Pro 2026 already shipping and occurred a month before NAB 2026, is viewed as part of a wider consolidation trend in post-production software ownership. Previously, on April 18, Boris FX made available Samplitude 2026, an update for music production and audio professionals. This release introduced a reimagined audio engine to deliver a more streamlined workflow and enhanced technical and creative flexibility, featuring smarter CPU management, an improved VST3 audio engine for low-latency recording, a video engine supporting 4K video playback, and the ability to remotely trigger Samplitude’s controls over a network.
