On July 9, 2026, Beeline Kazakhstan, a subsidiary of Veon Group, expanded its fibre-optic network coverage in Ust-Kamenogorsk and other parts of the East Kazakhstan region. This expansion added approximately 1,500 households since the beginning of the year, bringing the fibre network to cover 95 percent of residential buildings in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Earlier on July 2, VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioglu met with Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, reaffirming the company's commitment to the Digital Qazaqstan strategy. This meeting followed Terzioglu's participation in the 38th plenary session of the Foreign Investors Council, an advisory body facilitating dialogue between the government and investors.
