On September 18, AMD informed its partners to expect a roughly 10% price increase on AI accelerators, Radeon graphics cards, and motherboard chipsets, effective in the fourth quarter of 2026, while Ryzen products remain unaffected. Earlier the same day, AMD announced that its India-based team, comprising over 11,000 engineers, is central to developing faster, smaller, and more energy-efficient EPYC server and PC chips slated for launch in late 2026 and early 2027. Separately on September 18, the company was noted alongside Nvidia and Alphabet for securing access to high bandwidth memory (HBM) supply, a critical differentiator in the AI infrastructure market, where these three companies have locked up 85% of the scarce resource. Also on September 18, AMD provided further HDMI FRL updates for Linux 7.4, including default HDMI 2.1 support and integrated FreeSync VRR and ALLM features for upcoming hardware.
